The fastest growing disease in Mexico.

·

The fastest growing disease in Mexico in recent years is diabetes.
More than a third of Mexicans suffer, have relatives or know someone with diabetes.
1 in 8 Mexicans have been diagnosed with diabetes.
Certainly diabetes is a very malicious and insidious disease with harmless appaearances.

You do not know you have problems, until  arises any complications or illness is out of control, like an uncontrolled urination and thirst as an addition, two of the most common symptoms of diabetes. This is happening especially disproportionately with diabetes type II.   Only 20% of the population is informed about this disease. Which means that 80% of the population does not know if they are at risk for this disease or already have it? This is why it is also called "the silent murderer".

People who already have been diagnosed with this disease tend to be more aware of the risks involved and have acquired knowledge about it.
Diabetes is a chronic and degenerative disease and its treatment depends almost entirely on the behavior of the person who has it and how they take care of their health.  This may concern and even alarm the person who has it. What happens is that we don’t know or don’t want to take care of our health, especially when the disease  requires self-care which only we can take responsibility and make the effort. Now people are more conscious about all of 2 risk factors, which are: the overweight by poor diet and lack of exercise by inactivity. People do not want to pay the price of health like a healthy diet based on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds, nuts, dairy and eggs. The second factor is exercise,  the best and easiest way to control diabetes is walking.

Now we know that this illness is a lifestyle disease, there is no doubt that lifestyle and environment contribute to the development of this disease. Now including a high number of Mexican natives are suffering from this disease.

Most adults know a little about the long-term consequences of diabetes, which may involve foot amputations, blindness, kidney and heart disease, but only 20% know that this disease can also cause heart attacks and stroke. If more people are aware of this numbers they may be motivated to change their lifestyle.
The statistics show that 43% of people who suffer diabetes is border line with eye, heart and feet problems. And 10% are unable to work.

In case of diabetes type II, your body may not produce enough insulin or your cells can not use insulin properly. Insulin is needed for the body to use glucose for energy. When insulin stays in the blood instead of traveling to the cells, can lead people to a condition of diabetes.
